Great List. Thanks for not limiting yourself to 2024 movies. I didn't know Suspira had a sequel! Everyone needs to see Cemetery Man!

Thank you! I believe there are actually 3 movies in the Suspiria world. I haven't seen the 3rd one but I've heard some mixed reactions.

Cool list, Emma! Nice to see someone else put Lisa Frankenstein on their list! I really liked it a lot and see the ‘Heathers’ association you mention. lol.

And omg! From Beyond is so good!

I have a few you have listed in my blind spot that I do find interesting that I should probably remedy. Thanks for sharing.

I also liked Alien Romulus and Late Night with the Devil quite a bit, too. I think Romulus does shows promise for a direction where the franchise could grow. Have you heard about the TV series that FOX under Disney is making called Alien Earth? It’s being developed by the guy who worked on FXs Legion and Fargo TV series. It might be good and weird considering that.

Btw I fell in deep with Charli XCX this year, too. Brat is such a great culmination of who she is as an artist. Also her remixes are genuinely new songs that either match or surpass their original. ‘Girl, So Confusing’ is a true triumph of collaboration remix.

Thanks for reading! Glad to hear someone else is a Lisa Frankenstein fan, I feel like it was underseen. I have heard about the Alien series but didn't realize it was gonna be by the people who did Legion and Fargo. I never got around to finishing Legion, but I really enjoyed the first season so I can see the Alien series being something I'd like. Some of the Charli XCX remixes are almost better than the originals! I'm normally not a remix girl but I totally agree with you on Girl So Confusing and I'm still listening to the 365 remix.

I have still never seen Jack’s Back. I will have to remedy this.

I wish I could share your love for Longlegs. I wanted to like it so much but I just couldn’t get down with the 2nd half. This one and Late Night with the Devil ended up falling short for me. Glad to see Maika Monroe and Cage do great work though.

One of the reasons I had such a difficult time writing this is because I don't really have any justification for why I liked Longlegs so much. I agree with a lot of the criticism and issues people had with it, but at the end of the day I just flat out loved the movie. I really enjoyed Late Night With The Devil too, but similarly I can't really put it into words 🤷🏽‍♀️. I'll have to watch Mother of Tears though, but yeah everything I've heard about it kind of echos what you said

I totally get what your saying. I wished I did like them as much as you did because they both contain a lot of great parts.

But how you feel about these two is how I think I felt about Trap and Abigail. A lot of people did not like those and I can totally see why.

Great list and agreed w/ B-Movie Tea on bringing light to cool stuff outside of 2024.

Mother of Tears is the 3rd sequel. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen it but it’s a big drop in quality compared to Suspiria and Inferno.
